I attended a Business After Hours evening held by the Keene, NH Chamber of Commerce two weeks ago. The event was held at The Inn At East Hill Farm in Troy, NH. The owner proceded to tell me, after some discussion about their marketing and their lack of understanding about "blogging", that a weekend was filled with approximately 50 people who had all connected through blogging and decided to vacation together at the inn. Though they don't quite understand about blogging, nor do they yet use it on their website, they saw the power of it.
I think it's important to connect locally with people in your own community who are reaching out through blogging. Make new connections, respond to their blogs- you might be the one one or one of two or three who do. You'll be number one in that person's eyes. Who doesn't want a response to a blog posting?
The Inn at East Hill Farm is a place for families to spend a weekend in New England, with three meals/day provided, and endless farm activities for kids of all ages! They have sleigh rides, make maple syrup, hold country western dance lessons, have weekend retreats, and provide a working farm environment where kids are supervised and parents can lounge or work alongside. There is an indoor pool as well as an ourdoor pool. Pumpking picking, horseback riding, cow milking, and a great atmosphere with rooms that separate the kids from the adults, and provide a nice living space in between. I was so impressed by this inn, and it's just practically in our backyard. They said the majority of the people who come to the inn find it from out of state. All year round there are things to do here. I can't wait to take my family, and am so glad I attended the Business After Hours because face to face networking is just as good as blogging in my community where blogging is a bit slower to catch on!
